Treatments for warts and verrucas
Warts and verrucas are benign lesions of the skin which are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV). They can affect any area of the skin but most commonly appear on the hands, feet and face. The Anana Clinic offer a variety of treatments to remove and clear warts and verrucas with minimal discomfort and scarring.
- Cryotherapy: Liquid nitrogen is used to freeze the wart or verruca over a series of treatments. This method has a success rate of 70% after 3-4 months of regular freezing.
- Electrosurgery: Under local anaesthetic, the wart or verruca is burned by diathermy or cautery. This method has a success rate of 80%.
